Joachim, the old label (!) had the species as jalisco-m. The reason I don't think it is a fasciculata is the fact that the inflorescence is very flat, unbranched and the flowers barely exceed the bracts. I propose that it may instead be T. compressa. I have checked all of Derek's files and can't fin...

The flowers do not exert themselves out of the bracts and the inflorescence is not flat, not inflated.

I agree with Harry's reply. I have tried species similar to velickiana such as macdougallii, oaxacana, and andrieuxii in our climate and found that the humidity and warm nights rot the plants. As Timm alluded to, Chanin may have something to add. Good luck.

Gérard, those are beautiful habitat shots. What really makes me shake my head is that an Anthurium species grows there. Somehow I can't equate that plant in that locale. :?: Thanks for the photos.

That is really a bizzare looking Vriesea Timm. I don't believe I've ever seen a leaf configuration like that on them.
