Another silly ID in the Till. trade

This is being sold as T. pucaraensis (I don't think so), but it does share some qualities of aeranthos. What do you think?

Thank you very much Timm! Your photo is exactly as Herr Rauh described the plant. We can send men into space, re-invent the computer every week...why can't someone write a definitive book with photos on Tillandsias? :(

That looks suspiciously like my T. caerulea, which hasn't bloomed in 4 years but grows like a weed!

California freeze

Although many, many collectors of temperate/sub-tropical plants have suffered greatly here this past weekend, I'm happy to say that the low temperatures sustained for 3 nights did zero damage to my Tillandsia collection. One night of 25°F and 2 more of upper 20's didn't so much as burn a tip. This wa...

Denis, your English is FAR better than my German :D The booklet, which I do have, is the origin of the top scan. Herr Rauh's description and drawing is very similiar to a small tectorum. All sites that sell balsasensis have plants that look like the lower photo, including Tillandsia Biotype in Thail...

Till. balsasensis...which is what???

Here is the description Rauh gives in the tectorum complex book. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v113/gonzer/scan0001.jpg Here is a photo from a web site calling this balsasensis, that mirrors the plants I have, purchased from Tillandsia International. It does not look anything like a small tector...

Greetings Seth, this is my T. cocoensis obtained from Pam Koide from Birdrock Tropicals. I will try to find a photo of the bloom, very pale lavender I believe.

Joachim, I don't know what the first part of your reply is :( but I did the "vanhyningii". I was thinking of a hybrid between vanhyningii and something unknown.
As for T. cocoensis, the basal part of the leaves don't show the 'wrinkled' look.
