Hi Cyrill,

Ihr Werk ist sehr interessant und so schön.
Aber ich denke, der Blütenstand und Blüten zu sein scheinen, dass der Gattung Encholirium, nicht ein Dyckia.

My tiny Till. tricholepis in bloom

Beyond my xeric spiney collection, I have kept this tiny species, Till. tricholepis for year. Last week I saw its very tiny flower, 3 mm. in diameter  http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/dyckia1966/My%20collection_Jan2008/Till_tricholepisFl3.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/dycki...

Acanthostachys strobilacea - a cone like bloomer

I've kept this plant for year, they do grow quite well here but never bloom yet untill month ago I saw an orange cone-like flower appeared. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/dyckia1966/My%20collection_Jan2008/1ACANTHO1.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/dyckia1966/My%20collection_Jan200...

Actually, I agree with you, but I've noticed that the SSS plant has some different spination.
They do toward the leaves's tip, while my plant seem to be more compact
with rather bigger and reverse spination.

Hi Joachim ! Do my collections look different ? Yep...I've been building a new house, so I had to move all of my plant collection to the new place near by. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/dyckia1966/Moving/IMG_6006_resize.jpg The new place has bigger space than the last one. http://i40.photob...

Dyckia dawsonii ?

I received this Dyckia from a well-known collector in USA. The plant has been labeled as a true Dyckia dawsonii , but...Timm Do you have any specimen of this striking species in HBG, or a pic of the type. And if possible, I would like to see the original of the type specimen descriptions. http://i40...

I guess this method could be work only for epiphtic or tank type bromeliads,
but should not for terrestrial type.

Colourful Orthophytum !

Comparing to another xeric broms in my collection, most of them are green, silver or dark spiney things. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/dyckia1966/Moving/Dyck_Collection3.jpg But I found Orthophytum are among the most colourful. I hope this post could colour up your cold winter there  ...
