I know only the genus but do not know their spiecies. The top is Vriesea and the bottom is Guzmania (maybe Guzmania lingulata var....?). Most of Bromeliads in the markets now 70% is a hybrid plants. Thanks Joachim, So this is for sure quite rare Aechmea. But it looks very nice. Is there possible to do a tissue culture with this spiecie ? Like lots of Vriesea in Europe.

It certainly is a 100% pure Aechmea veitchii. But I agree that to some degree it resembles a pineapple. Even hybrids between Aechmea and Ananas do exist, but look different. This one for sure is not a hybrid. But it's wonderful, isn't it? A definite "must have" if it were not because of t...

I think that Aechmea look like Intergeneric of Ananas spiecie. The flower look so eatable!

Anyway, the plants develop numerous hair pups at their base which can look rather nice if they are mounted. The plants can become very large Wow really...thanks for the tip. Then I should try to mount this Tillandsia too. Hope mine grow up very large and give pups like yours :roll: Regards, Seth.
