Tillandsia identification
Please help me to identify this small plant.
The leaves are very thin, gray and 18 cm long. First flower is just emerging and it is very dark blue.
Thanks!
Mira

No, Diego, I have T. juncea for several years and this plant is quite different. It is much smaller, and the leaves are thinner. Besides, they are the same color, the tips are not red even if plant is in the sun. The inflorescence was pink from the begining, about 3 months ago when it started to emerge. The plant is very small and fragile looking, but obviously mature.
Maybe T. pentasticha???

Hi Mira,
your plant is confusing me a little bit.
Tillandsia juncea was my first bet too. But something seems to be not right.
It is not a Tillandsia pentasticha, that one has its leaves arranged in
distinctive 5 rows (penta=5, sticha= row).
Do you have any more details on that one ?
Where did you get it ?
And maybe, do you know its orgin ?
Greetings Timm

Hi SiCk,,SiCk hat geschrieben:damn..... i also tought it was T. juncea... Is it possible that this is an juncifolia ?!?!
Tillandsia juncifolia is an invalid name, a synonym to Tillandsia juncea.
Therefore Tillandsia juncifolia and Tillandsia juncea are simply the same.
See our BromWicki

Thanks Timm, did not know about the 5 rows for pentasticha. Unfortunately, I do not know the origin of this plant. It came from Hungary, but the dealer is not willing to tell his sources...
What confuses me so much is that the plant has only few leaves. It is much like few pine needles, only a bit longer. One more photo, if it helps.
The leaves are not wider near the base, and the base is not dark, or dry, as it sometime is with juncea. In fact, I have 2 juncea plants, the big one, and the smaller one that is usually named juncifolia - you already started discusion about that.
I allso have another of this unknown Tillandsa, it is even smaller than the first one, but has one pup. Here is the photo.

Hi Pablo!
In this case I disagree with you. It is T. bartramii. It could be T. simulata, but after reading this

I am now certain that my small plant is bartramii.
