Can you please help me identify these two bromeliads?

I think one (the one with the purple flower) may be an edmundoa? Unfortunately I acquired both plants at the end of flowering so the flowers are not at their best in the photos.

Hi ammali,

Could be a species of the genus Canistrum or Nidularium.
Check the FCBS Photoindex here.
There is a close related genus called Edmundoa, but the species I know
look much bigger then yours.

I would not dare to identifie it closer, without any data or flower pictures.

The second one would be a fading inflorescence of a variety of Billbergia pyramidalis
I would like to meet new friends in other part of the world and would be glad to trade plants or seed from this part of the world.

it is B.pyramidalis

The first could be a nidularium species. :?
The second is Billbergia pyramidalis.

Probably Nidularium rutilans and Billbergia pyramidalis both post floral. HEL
