help with ...alcantarea?

Beitrag von enrique »

Dear bromlovers,
I have problems to identify this plant. I got it nearly two years ago as a Vriesea gigantea, but I think it is closer to an Alcantarea species... There is certain resemblance to A. imperialis, but not sure. It has got grass pups, & I have read it is characteristic to this species :?: . It has got a span of 45 cm. at the present. It will be a very nice surprise if I could confirm that I have got an Alcantarea in my garden :D !!!
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Best regards.

In Australia plant breeders have been experimenting with different forms broad leafs, and there are different colours that have been developed one in New Zealand called pur pura. If you got time to wait flowers at 14 to 15 year mark. Native to Brazil. I got more info is require email.
