[align=center]This came from Rio Grande do Sul very high on the mountains. These are red form. It is not small and its spines are rubbery as the much smaller Dyckia pectinata from up in the North. This is a majetic species and can reach more than half a meter in diameter.. Never ever seen abroad not even in pictures. ...a true deligth. The freshest air possible in here.

Dyckia delicata

[align=center]As that American tune says: " You´ll never find another luv like mine...." It can get really cold up there. Comes from a vey hard to reach place. Moving or rolling stones are a true danger for anyone intrepid enough to climb up there. I went! Got back alive.....

These plants show some damage but remember they traveled a lot and Dyckias do not recover easily. They take their time to adpt to the new conditions. A seedling adapts itself promptly and much readier. A wild caught plant take too much time to get used to the new circunstancies. Sometimes I do much better with a seed than a wild caught plant and I am in Brazil with plenty of good light and temperature.
