Hi Everyone,

I have been growing these Bromeliads for years. But I never know their names. They look like Guzmania or maybe Vriesea. Does anyone know ?

Hi,

are you able to post some pictures including flowers ?
In this state it is really hard to even guess what that could be.

Hi

well...like you see in the pictures. And they never seem to flower as I want to. If they were blooming now I also would knew properly :)

Hi Everybody
The top pic looks to me like it may be a Vriesea and the bottom looks like some Guzmanias. However that is just how they strike me - one would need to see them in flower, and even then would take an expert to be sure.

I wouldn't even dare to speculate about genus here... Both could really be anything. I agree that there are a lot Vrieseas that look like the plant at the top, but there are also Tillandsias which look very similar. The bottom plant could be Guzmania monostachia as well as Vriesea lubbersii for instance. Vr. X Komet also looks very much the same. No way to tell from the pictures, but I am sure these healthy looking plants will soon reveal their identity themselves. ;-)

Cheers,
Joachim

I think the 2 top pics could be more likely a Neoregelia, notice the pointed tips of the leaves. Maybe a very pale 'Fireball'.
