Could anybody identify this vriesea for me? I was told its a Platynema but the flower spike & leaf patterns are different

whoa...I am not good at Vriesea. Lots of them look so similar.

I agree, lots look the same - but I stay mainly with foliage vrieseas and there are differences. I tried to post another pic of foliage up close - but it did not work, so will show it here. Markings look a bit like those on a V Bituminosa I have, the flowers look a deeper yellow than Platynemas I have, may be a hybrid, I don't know but would welcome any suggestions Regards

I would help you anyway if I knew Vriesea very well. But here in Thailand Tillandsia is best one and very famous. Vriesea is still not famous. Because it has a big shape and not looking as excotic as Tillandsia. I also having problem with my Vriesea too. Lots of them got unknown named.
