Hi cheops,

when it comes to Aechmeas, I might have some seeds for you.
Gimme a few days checking in the greenhouse, this week I will be buisy
getting all my plants back inside. WE are having fall up here in europe ;-)

What do you mean by black Aechmea chantinii ?

Tillandsia eizii is very hard to find, first of all it take ages to get them
into bloom and on the other hand Tillandsia seeds need to be very fresh to
germinate. Don't have much hope to help you with this one.

Greetings to Bild
Timm

Where are the Tillandsia seeds listed? I couldn't find any. Not that I am particularly keen on buying Tillandsia seeds.... But T. eizii is certainly an interesting species, particularly if the seeds germinate well.

Cheers,
Joachim

OIC. Well-hidden. ;-) So, after you had sown the T. eizii seeds, how long did it take them to germinate and what's the speed of growth (if that can be said already)... T. eizii is one of the greenish-grey Tillandsias supposed to grow somewhat faster (at least as seedlings) compared to the most xeric ones.

BTW, there is/was a project near San Cristobal, Chiapas (Mexico) where locals are trained to grow T. eizii from seeds. This is necessary because of a large local demand for that species, which therefore is threatened in habitat. Also it was planned to export plants. I'll see if I can find info on that.

Cheers,
Joachim
