Very, very nice plants, Chanin. As always!

Here is how my Dyckia X "Brittle Star" looked 5 minutes ago:

But that comparison is a bit unfair. ;-)

Cheers,
Joachim

Hi Joachim, actually it's definitely fair !!!
As you know, one of my most want plant is the original clone
of Dyckia 'Brittle Star' that you have.

If your plant came from Bird Rock Tropical, that it's !
as Bill Baker, the hybridizer of the plant said, he don't have the original F1 anymore.
Only some nursery (BRT) or collector would have the plant, outside US.

So, please keep me a pup, my friend

It is from BRT, indeed. But whether it's the original F1 clone? I don't know. But from the pictures available of the web, I would judge my plant as certainly one of the better clones, if not the best. And if you say it's the F1...

...of course!

By the way, this has been one of the easiest Dyckias for me so far. It arrived in a pityful condition but soon started to root and has since then fully recovered. GerFi, how is yours doing?

Cheers,
Joachim

You see, I have some new member, 9 huge and 2 clumps of Golden Barrel Cactus

I think my 'another little friend' is a Dyckia marnier-lapostollei. What do you think about it?

I'm not sure, as the texture and rosette dimention have some different,
yet the spines are quite big for a seedling of this species.
Where did you get it ?

Hi Chanin,

that flowering Dyckia 'Yellow Glow' on one picture, could you post a close-up? I am stunned!

The plant I got from you has established well and is now starting to grow, but dark green!   But what else to expect after a long, dull winter! Now I expose it to as much direct sunlight as possible, hoping the new growth will again turn yellow. Almost entirely yellow plants like yours, however, appear to be a challenge here in central Europe, probably requiring strong artificial light during winter.

Cheers,
Joachim

Hi Joachim, as your request my friend :)

This morning, I saw some seed pod setting up, but a strange thing happen,
all of the pods's color is yellowish-light brown intead of green !
I think they would be fertile, but could not be germinated or grown up,
as the seedling might be albino or lacked-chlorophyll, dur to their mother vriegation.

Just want to up date my Dyckia 'Yellow Glow' s seed pods.

You see they are all yellowish brown-colored instead of dark green or nearly black as those of the other.

After I sowed the seeds for week, they are germinating very well...but
As you see, they all appear to be a kind of lacking chlorophyll plants,
except only two green-colored seedling amongst 500 albino (surely death) :!:

These are one week Dyckia 'Yellow Glow' seedlings, note on the marked green plant.

Bild

Another green one !

Comparing to the normal Dyckia's seedlings on the right.
