Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any info about whether chloramine- a chemical found in many municipal water supplies- has any negative effects on Tillandsias. As a rule, Oakland's water is quite good... even my carnivorous plants thrive on tap water here. But we do add chloramine to the water- a form of chlorine that does not dissipate with exposure to air. Some of my T's have withered leaf-tips... but I can' say for sure if it's our low humidity, chloramine, or something else.
Any ideas?
Best,
Bill

Hi Bill,
sorry but I do not have any experiences with that stuff.
Over here in Germany Chloramine is only being use in public
swimming pools, not in drinking water.
Even though our water is already okay,
I try to use exclusively rainwater.
White tips moight be caused by hard water
According to the english wikipedia
85% of US homes have hard water.
your climate should be moist enough.
Or do you mean just the current drought ?
Greetings Timm
