With the amount of hyprids and cultarvars being produced I find it is harder and harder to id neoregelia. I just attended my club meeting and one of the proffersional growers show just how the amount of light can affect neoregelia. She showed one plant that had was exposed to four different degrees of light, and compered it to other cultarvars and they were in some cases identical to them. One point she made, was that if you have pink or orange center neos dont expose to full sun, as it fades the colours out of them and are more septable to burning. Red center ones are more able to adapt, due to the melan which is the red pigment, but still require to be climidiced, in the spring.
