Yes Gerfi, your plant is beautiful and will be even better looking under the care of yours in some more years to come.
Also the questioning true species or not is not of a such great value as never in history a Dyckia that had stayed in any collection returned to wilderness and here in Brazil it will never. For removing a rare Plant from wilderness is a crime here but taking Dyckias back to wilderness is a crime even worst and would be a disater to wilderness!
Imagine we getting one of our plants bach to wilderness, what strange genes would we be introducing into an habitat? Dyckias are not violets.
There is just one thing Dyckias love more than Sun bathing: SEX!
Dyckias are extreme Sun lovers and sex addicted maniacs. They promptely do it with any other Dyckia species as long as they are around ( Sometimes even not so around as a bee may fly as far as 5 km.).
So the questioning on being true or not is of a lesser importance for any collectors´s plant won´t be allowed back into nature.
In my opinion the fact of being beautiful is of a greater importance. For the keeping and guarding true genes is a role just the very specialized Botanic Garden may play. Ideally, Nature reserves would be much and better equiped.
Once a plant is developed by or from seed out of the habitat, the resulting plant for as much sure of its purity one may be it won´t ever be allowed to be transfered to nature. So we must give up any insight of saving nature by keeping our beauties in our gardens and care.
Reality is not so romantic!
The only case known of getting Dyckia plants into nature is a case of transfering living plants from a place that was about to be flooded. The plant was Dyckia distachya Hassler and the place was Santa Catarina. The job was done by skilled botanists and it was followed close up to now since then. This is transfering from a wild place to another wild place.
Gerfi´s plant true or not is one born to be well cared and beautiful and I think it is a rubra form of Dyckia goehringii.
This here below is another Dyckia goehringii plant that may help me to get pure strain seeds as the plant is not self fertile. We need at least another plant and one strike of luck.
This plant here below is an aduld one:
