How do I tell if my bromeliad is terrestrial or epiphytic? I currently have it mounted to a piece of wood with peat and wire. Is this O.K

It is possible to grow an epiphytic brom as a terrestial - if the potting mix is open enough - thou I don't know if Spanish moss grown that way would work :)
