This was rescued from a nursery's garbage pile without an ID. Chanin or someone care to hazard a guess?

Thanks Denis, time to research it. I wasn't thinking Puya.

Hi Gonzer, Last year when I asked my friend to bring back some Dyckias from Dutch Vandervort, in my list there was a name Dyckia ferox, that Mr. Vandervort just laugh and said to my friend that " He (Me) must be a crazy guy to got this one (D.ferox)!!"

I'm not sure that if it should be the same of yours, but as my friend described, it would fit on your plant in most manner "Big...Ferocious...Clumsy...and...Ugly Dyckia!!!" So he didn't get it for me!! Haa..Haa..Haa..

Well..he was mistaken, as I really love it if it like your plant!
I would like to meet new friends in other part of the world and would be glad to trade plants or seed from this part of the world.

Chanin, that describes how I got this plant also! When Birdrock Tropicals was moving their location and was having many sales over the last 2 years, this plant just sat, and sat, and sat. Nobody wanted him  . When all the stock was gone, this 'little' guy was left all alone  . Ugly, wobbly, and spiky, I decided to give him a good home :D . A very happy ending, just like your story :D :D :D
