Hi pal,

a little more infos about this plant would be helpful
(Size, origin, hybrid or not etc.) and a bigger closeup shot of the flower.
so far i cannot even guess.

Greetings, Timm

this is the best shot I have. The flower is gone by now.

The plant is from a local nursery called at www.exoticgardens.biz.

The leaves are about 30 -40 cm long and max 3 cm wide.

I have no idea if it is a hybrid or not, in fact that is why i have posted this question.

Well ......... to be honest....I have no idea at the moment.
First I was thinking of some sort of Canistropsis / Nidularium stuff, but
the flowers are not very good to see. The foliage is a bit like Areococcus
but the inflorescence isn't at all.
Nursery plants are often hybrids and than it could be almost anything.
Did the vendor have any more infos on that ??

I have browsed the FCBS Photo Index but I couldn't find anything like that.

Sorry that I cannot help so far.

Greetings, Timm

Well I did go back to the vendor who said it was Aechmea Tonada. I went to the bromeliad ID page and I found Tonada - the leaves look similar but the flower is completely different. I hope it will flower again soon and if it does I post a good quality close-up. until then - thanks for your help!
