I do not have any experience with xantic forms of Dyckias. I have heard the xantic forms, yellowish ones, come as a reactoin from a viruses. So the seeds of a yellow form come with normal form. The only way to multiply is by cloning with sprouts or tissue culture.
Recently in a batch of seedlings of a new dyckia species, came three yellow plants amid three hundred normal. What produces these yellow forms. Do they have a less amount of cloroblast cells? Do they require the same kind and amount of light? That yellow Dyckia brefifolia named as glowing brev or sunrinsing brev is a case of xantochromism, isn´t it?
How to prevent this from happening and to encorage this to happen?
Some clue?

Though I 've kept this beauty for years till it bloom.
I myself don't understand about its colouration characteristic.
As it seem like a temporary variegation,
it will turn to be green like normal plant if you grow in shade,
and will glow yellow-colored when keep exposing to sun light for month.

If you ask who create this plant, I can say the "Mother Nature"

In fact, Dyckia 'Yellow Glow' is a sport from a seed of normal D. brevifolia
which selected by a well known bromeliad grower, DeLeon
